  SUBJECT +是+ NOUN    &   

      SUBJECT + 很very/ 非常very/ 超级super + ADJECTIVE

eg.

1. 我是台湾人 Wǒ shì táiwān rén           (Subject + 是 + Noun)

    I am Taiwanese.                                 (Subject + Be-Verb + Noun)

2. 他是我的老师 Tā shì wǒ de lǎoshī ​​​​​​​    (Subject + 是 + Noun)

    He is my teacher.                               (Subject + Be-Verb + Noun)

 3. 你们是美国人 Nǐmen shì měiguó rén ​​​​​​​        (Subject + 是 + Noun)

    You are American.                                        (Subject + Be-Verb + Noun)

4. 他们是我的家人  Tāmen shì wǒ de jiārén ​​​​​​​      (Subject + 是 + Noun)

    They are my family.                                          (Subject + Be-Verb + Noun)

Pay attention to this one and remember  SUBJECT +是+ NOUN is correct.

However, In Chinese/Mandarin, “Subject + 是 + Adjective” is INCORRECT!!! 

If the Adjective go after the Be-Verb, we have to place " 很 / 非常very / 超级super " instead 

 SUBJECT + 很very/ 非常very/ 超级super + ADJECTIVE

eg.

1. 我很高兴 Wǒ hěn gāoxìng ​​​​​​​           (Subject + 很 + Adjective)

    I am happy.                               (Subject + Be-Verb +Adjective)

2. 你很帅 Nǐ hěn shuài ​​​​​​​              (Subject + 很 + Adjective)

    You are handsome.              (Subject + Be-Verb +Adjective)

3. 她很美 Tā hěn měi ​​​​​​​          (Subject + 很 + Adjective)

    She is pretty.                 (Subject + Be-Verb +Adjective)

4. 他们很伤心 Tāmen hěn shāngxīn ​​​​​​​         (Subject + 很 + Adjective)

    They are sad.                                       (Subject + Be-Verb +Adjective)

5. 我们很忙 Wǒmen hěn máng ​​​​​​​          (Subject + 很 + Adjective)

    We are busy.                                 (Subject + Be-Verb +Adjective)

6. 你们很可爱 Nǐmen hěn kě'ài ​​​​​​​         (Subject + 很 + Adjective)

    You are cute.                                 (Subject + Be-Verb +Adjective)

  他很生气             她很漂亮  

  他是生气            她是漂亮
